The difference between Glaze and wood stain

Glaze
Usually used between primer or varnish layers (such as "primer → Glaze → topcoat").
During construction, it is necessary to wipe the primer when it is not completely dry, or control the color depth by dry brushing, cloth rubbing, etc., to emphasize the shadow effect of the concave and convex texture of the wood.
It needs to be protected by subsequent topcoat.
Wood Stain
It is directly used on natural wood subatrate or surfaces after the sealer primer
The color penetrates into the wood by wiping or brushing, and can be directly covered with transparent topcoat after drying.
The operation is simpler and suitable for quick coloring.
Effect difference

Glaze
Strong sense of layering: by wiping, the contrast of light and dark is formed, highlighting the wood grain, carving or distressing marks (such as dark corners and light flat colors).
Transparency: retain the original color of the primer or wood, and present a translucent effect after superposition.
Antique effect: suitable for American pastoral and retro style furniture.
Wood Stain
Uniform penetration: the color and wood are integrated to show the natural texture.
Weak covering power: will not completely cover the original color of the wood, suitable for light or medium-depth coloring.
Modern: suitable for simple, Nordic and other styles.
